After the Beatles, this was definitely the easiest list to get to 10!

I had to wait a little while for this one and see your other lists, since there's a difference to me between the Pet Sounds songs (the only Beach Boys disc I own) and the many singles I hear on the radio all the time. I shouldn't just cut and paste Pet Sounds playlist into my top 10!

As a side question, would anyone recommend the ideal 1-2 disc Beach Boys collection that has as little overlap with Pet Sounds as possible? It can even be an album instead of a greatest hits, if you think it's representative of all the other non-Pet Sounds stuff.

Well, Jonah, the 1974 classic compilation "Endless Summer" is a very good catalog of the early Beach Boys material (all songs are prior to "Pet Sounds" except the immense "Good Vibrations"). The title of the album says it all.
You can add 1999 "Greatest Hits, Vol 2" with some late 60s gems as "Darlin'" or "Break Away"

Jonah, for the early Beach Boys hits, you can purchase one of their thousands compilations they have released. If you want an real album, I recommand you without any doubt the 2 masterpieces they made in the early 70's, "sunflower" and "surf's up" coupled in one cd. A must-have in any Beach Boys fan collection.

I'd also highly recommend Friends and 20/20, which are also available on a single cd.

Well, they are my second favorite band of all time, so this is hard, but with much deliberation...

Hey I have great memory what it comes to this forum.

Just what to let you Beach Boys fans that I finally got my hands on Sunflower/Surf's Up and it's wonderful! It definitely rounds out the sonic and emotional palette of what the Beach Boys should be about. I also love the hints of Smile that sneak in (I bought the Brian Wilson album earlier). Slip On Through, Long Promised Road, At My Window, Feel Flows, Till I Die, really great stuff. Thanks for suggesting it!
