My sons father in law lives in Galway Ireland and has a 2 stroke moped from the 1950's that has worn out 25" x 2.00" tyres. They look like bicycle tyres. Is anyone aware of any supplier of such a size. Thanks in anticiptaion.
25" probably follows the older system of sizing dating back to beaded-edge tyres. He really needs to look for any markings on the rim to confirm the post-war sizing. Norton listed the WD16H which has 19" rims as requiring a 26" x 3.25 tyre, referencing the outside diameter when fitted.
An old 2" wide 100% aspect ratio tyre is likely to be fitted to a 21" rim (25" less 2" on each side).
Hi Rik the tyre looks like a bicycle tyre not a beadeed edge tyre and has 24 x 2.00 in raised letters on it. I will find out what type of moped it is fitted too. Thanks John
