Does anyone have a set of front protection bars for sale, or measurements, as in the forum photo above?
I'm building a WM21 from Dutch army contract C3730 (frame WM20 2966). It didn't make it to the Netherlands, leaving the factory in May 1940 and redirected to the British War Dept. I'm using some creative licence on its spec: balloon tank, valanced rear guard, 'standard' front mudguard, foot gear change. However, I do like those front bars!
Ron indeed helped me to obtain the correct crash bars. I did research on them for my NLD Army WM21. The NLD National Military Museum has an original Army G14 combination. The crashbars for the WM21's are very much the same as the one on the G14. There are two versions of the crashbars, one version without diagonal supporting bar (only applied to the 1st contract Dutch Army KM21's delivered between feb-mar 1939) and the 2nd version with diagonal supporting bar, applied from the 2nd contract till the very last contracts (including the 'Dutch pattern' M21's which were diverted to the UK War Office). The crashbars were made by BSA on special demand by the Dutch Army (I have copies of the Dutch paperwork which specifically mention this).
Below you will find the dimensions of the basic shape of the crashbars. I did the rest of the work in my own workshop. Obviously I can not send you more detailed photos as the WM21 is now lost in the fire.
