Re: Front mudguard?

The mudguard for the splayed Norton forks was quite unusual in having no indents, I think ?

Oddly, this mudguard has some quite Norton-looking features. Is there any evidence of mounting holes being welded-up ? If not, then I'd suspect that it's a good quality older pattern or replica part. They've made a good job of rolling the rib, but perhaps simply lacked the press tooling to add the inverted 'V' ?

looks like post war ariel

Re: Front mudguard?

Yes I agree with Barry. John Budgen (Ariel) had a few of these years ago, NOS in shiny black. I bought one, but it wasn't right for my W/NG.

Re: Front mudguard?

Thanks very much for all your replies.
No mounting holes have been filled.
The front of Ron's guard in the picture does look the same as my guard apart from the position of the front mounting holes.
At least it will not look too out of place on my 16h.
Regards, Nick

Re: Front mudguard?

red hunter or something, front stay holes are on the sides like yours. :)

Re: Front mudguard?

Thanks Barry that seems to narrow it down further.
Cheers, Nick
