Re: VMCC Cheddar & Ardingly Autojumbles

I'll be at both as well, looking forward to it!

Re: VMCC Cheddar & Ardingly Autojumbles

Quite an enjoyable day, but I preferred the old Shepton site, I left soon after two and it took me about half an hour to get back to the motorway.

But I had a few nice bits from JOB and it was good to meet up with some old friends, but I somehow missed Ian.

Hi Rob..I don't know how I missed you as I was hoping to catch up...I did inside first and then went outside but I'm pretty sure I was out there before 2 o'clock...I did meet up with a few people I haven't seen for a number of years and a handfull of the 'regulars'...Overall I had a good day and liked the jumble (apart from the half mile queue in the cafe)...I picked up some useful parts as well...I might have a stall at the September event...Ian

Re: VMCC Cheddar & Ardingly Autojumbles

John O'Brien's stall has become the new "Ian Wright at Netley" meeting point. I travelled on to Ardingly too, which was big, especially outside but I thought Cheddar had the edge. As well as John and Ian, I managed to find Rob Miller stationed by the fence and Tim Kearney was sharing some of John's space.

I didn't join the coffee queue but can confirm that there is a very decent micro-brewery / cider maker in the adjacent farm units...No queue and plenty of seating room. :grinning:

Re: VMCC Cheddar & Ardingly Autojumbles

It was a great event at cheddar - 4 of us travelled over & Tim & 1 shared a space inside the main hall

Good to meet everyone - unload some treasure I no longer needed & load up with treasure I suppose I didn’t need either - but when you are there - it’s time to buy

I would travel again to the new venue & think vmcc have done a great job - some fine tuning on refreshments perhaps need looking at

We then travelled down to Ardingly to the jumble there which is mix of show & jumble - likewise - Julie does a great job & I am happy to support another bike enthusiast like her

Onwards to west of London to pick up more vintage motorcycle contraband from JT - then on to south wales where rested for our last night
The sea was a mill pond yesterday & we were waved through by customs in Ireland which was a highlight of the trip
We really made every bit count this trip & all 4 of us got items all required as well as meeting friends from forum from U.K., Belgium & Netherlands
Planning to swoop to founders day but perhaps as a tourist this time
Thanks all who I met - it was great to see you all

Re: VMCC Cheddar & Ardingly Autojumbles

Yes, it was certainly a good weekend! managed to buy some rare stuff, but never what I really need of course, but am used to that by now.

Met and talked to all the usual suspects, and some new ones too, and had a good laugh!

Strange I never saw you, Rik at Cheddar, as I would have gone with you for a cider next door, never knew that!

Cheers,

Lex
