Can anyone ID this speedo, the bike is a late 1944 wm20 but unsure if this is the correct original unit? Also seems to have a trip on the bottom half but no way to reset?
From the code on the face mainly 1945-47 post war BSA and Ariel models (A nd B Series singles and twins) but also other later models into the early 50's...If it has a trip but no facility to operate it, it's a mismatched body and workings...Ian
That knob is held onto a thin shaft by a split pin. You pull it out 1/4" or so and rotate. The knob needs to be removed and the shaft pushed in to take the mechanism out of the body.

There are also speedos with a trip on the bottom face of the speedo body..Used on nacelle model BSAs and Triumphs, Ariels and Enfields with alloy speedo housings etc. where a 'side' trip isn't possible...Ian
Well looks like mine is mismatched the body of mine has no hole for any reset button to fit through. Not overly fussed was just curious, might be good to find another body with the hole for the trip and the mechanism
