Relative values?...Who can work it out?...Personally I don't class a Welbike as a motorcycle, rather a militaria collectible, so any comparisons with other machines are arguably not really valid...
I think they are ridiculously over priced but then I'm not a militaria collector and I do make the comparison, however invalid...
A friend recently bought the last bronze head Excelsior Manxman made before the war (August 1939), with only two previous owners who were brothers and more or less completely original and running....From my point of view a no brainer as the Excelsior came at a fair bit less money than that Welbike....
But hey, people are paying millions for a bit of Banksy graffiti that a few years ago he would have been prosecuted for carrying out, so I already know it is an odd world we live in and people look at different things in different ways..
It seems hard to believe but some people actually think I'm deranged for spending good money on old motorcycles!!:laughing: .....Ian
