From this box of bits I took out the chain case panels only to find they are not a matching pair!!
Not much out, but more than my sheet metal working skills could cope with.
Is there any way to identify the genuine M20 half.

There should be a part number stamped inside the inner, possibly the outer too.

The part number on the inner is usually located at '2 o'clock' to the gearbox hole. Outer covers are a bit more bit and miss.
