Cush drive alignment

Hi all
Preparing the clutch & drive assemblies here & have come to clutch wheel & Cush drive sprocket alignment

Frames studs all tight
Spacers correctly situated
New gearbox main shaft
New clutch hub, bearings & wheel
New Cush drive, bearing, sleeve & sprocket

In aligning I have had to use
1 x 32thou spacer
1 x 64thou spacer
I have good alignment with this
In the parts lists it states “as required “

Just wondering if 2 shims or this thickness is normal

Re: Cush drive alignment

Pretty normal really...It just takes account of the production tolerances of the various parts which is why they are not always needed...It's worth remembering as well that many of the parts we are using may have been manufactured years, if not decades, apart...Ian

Re: Cush drive alignment

Hi Ian
It’s an interesting observation that & one which I had not given really serious thought on
Most nos parts we pick up these times are 50’s manufactured so the time span between production & replacement spare part could in fact be decades

It’s all lined up so I can be happy with that until the next obstacle
