BSA M20 photo,early model type.

BEF era M20,Bedford trucks in back ground,thought it was a dart board on the tree , but might not be?

The horizontal line under the "C" is unusual. Reminiscent of pre-war RASC "B" vehicle practice (but not motorcycle as they used the black background).

If those are sash windows in the background then presumably a U.K. photo ? Perhaps prior to joining the BEF in France.

Have seen that horizontal stripe before, but on what bike?
