Re: 1944 dated tool

Wow ! It must be a sparking plug detacher. Intended for bench mounting ?

Re: 1944 dated tool

Is it to hold spare spark plugs? Ron

Typing together Rik and I was just going to edit my post to say hold the plugs for taking them apart!

Re: 1944 dated tool

Pre war bikes often had a hex hole on the forks or rear carrier for that purpose. Ron

Re: 1944 dated tool

Do you think it's aeronautical ? There weren't many 12mm plugs in use on vehicles at that time. De Havilland Gipsy engines used 12mm during the 1930s.

Have you come across the YA code before ?

Re: 1944 dated tool

Could be, also some generators used small plugs? Could YA 1944 be the part number? what was "YA"? "FA" was tools, "ZA" was signals supplies.

Re: 1944 dated tool

As a collector of pre-war KLG Detachers, I have to say that it's a very nice thing. Is it mounted on an oak block ?
