Where to get handlebars?

Where could I get a set of 7/8 handlebars for a 1944 Triumph 3HW please?
I heard they were a standardised size among the British WD bikes after a certain date.
Thanks

Re: Where to get handlebars?

Triumph 3HWs changed over to 7/8 inch handlebars during 1944,the change was to BSA type bars and control levers for all major makes, although Triumph bars did not have the end plugs/caps.I think some one on the forum had some made that were copied from BSA M20 originals.

Re: Where to get handlebars?

Thanks. Great pics.
Do you know what type of control levers, choke/mag levers etc were used? Were they brass or steel?

Many thanks

Re: Where to get handlebars?

I have the M20 handlebars. Used for the late war standardisation scheme,£40.

Also these are the Amal standardisation Steel controls. The drawings usually show the mag and air levers as the type with the swivel fixing with one screw. But the parts list for the 44 3HW quotes the saddle clamp with two screws. So I went with that type on mine. Ron
