M21 ? Crankcases

Have inherited what I think are M21 cases.
Engine number just says 16 3545
Piston diameter is 68mm Stoke is approx 145 mm.
Are these M21 . Wanted to send pictures but can't figure out how.
Many thanks for your time

Re: M21 ? Crankcases

Not sure what you have there? :-
An M21 is 82 Bore x 112 Stroke
An M20 is 82 Bore x 94 Stroke.

Email me the pictures if you want and I'll post them on this thread. Ron

Re: M21 ? Crankcases

The 145mm stroke figure you quote is incorrect if they are motorcycle crankcases...There is no British bike of any make with a stroke length that long...I think the Model 19S Norton is the longest at 120mm...
The figure you give isn't the conrod length is it?...To correctly determine the stroke measure from the centre of the big end to the center of the cranks mainshaft in mm and then double that figure....The engine number also doesn't match the usual BSA numbering system...

68mm is a bore size used on some 250s....Ian
