Piston rings

Hi all

One of my piston rings has snapped(not in the bike) through poor transportation of parts. I cant seem to find a set STD size and my bore/piston look fairly mint can i get a set +020 and file the ring end to suit?

Thanks

Re: Piston rings

If you end up with +20's filed down , pop them in the dore, square them up and hold it to the light
Note tha it will only touch in the middle and at the ends
In a pinch they will work because they will wear into the bore but they will never work properly because the circle are different diameters .
Not as big a problem on SV engines because the compression ratio is so low .

Re: Piston rings

Hello. I have been using some volkswagen 82,5mm rings (2 in one groove) for +20 bore. Don't know exact part number now but I can check it later. When using 2 rings in a groove you can leave ring gap bigger without loosing compression
