Below,"PHANTOM" possibly Germany or NW Europe, judging by their belts.
Below, same guy as in all the above photos dated 11/9/42 on rear.
The motor cycle photos are most probably taken at the same place, looks like a small country cottage with the same fence in the background and is probably the same motorcycle on both, it's fitted with a fag end tail light with the rubber sleeve.
A well-worn C6654 bike (delivered June - August 1940). Clearly the UK, but difficult to date. 1941 to 1943, before they were re-equipped for N.W. Europe, presumably.
'P' and Phantom refers to ....
GHQ Liaison Regiment (known as Phantom) was a special reconnaissance unit of the British Army first formed in 1939 during the early stages of World War II. The regiment's headquarters were at The Richmond Hill Hotel in Richmond, Surrey (now in London); its base (including the officers' mess and billet) was at Pembroke Lodge, a Georgian house in Richmond Park, London.
David Niven (the actor) was in the Phantoms...The story has it that was why he chose the name 'The Phantom' for the jewel thief he played in the Pink Panther films after the war....Ian
