276 Carb Overhaul

After a few years of sooty plugs and progressively rougher running I finally decided to unlock my wallet and have my WM20’s 276 properly overhauled. I sent it to Joe the Carb, and three weeks later it’s back with a rebore and new jet block, slide, needle and needle jet, and the flange re-faced. Excellent service, brilliant value and the bike’s running is transformed. I have no connection with Joe, but as carbs seem to be a frequent source of misery I thought I’d share my experience.

Re: 276 Carb Overhaul

Joe the carb?...Would that be Wales, the USA or Australia?....
If it's the UK I'd be interested as I've had very mixed results from reconditioned carbs in the past and have used new ones for a while....The problem now though is that a new one for a WDM20 is over £450 plus post but comes with bright nickel plates parts, meaning that from new all that has to be replated to look correct....Ian:relaxed:

He's in St Albans Ian. I found his ebay listings via his FB page. You can contact him through one of his listings. I already messaged him about something and he replied quite quickly.

Re: 276 Carb Overhaul

St Albans, as Ron says. His e-mail is joe.kickstart@ntlworld.com
I asked for an internal clean only, specifically to preserve the external finish and patina. He did exactly as I asked. I sent the carb minus float chamber and have received back in effect a functionally as-new carb for 20% of the price mentioned by Ian.
