Re: Looking for info on WM20 frame

Indeed, this is a contract C/12424 number. It was despatched from the factory in November 1942. The war time census numbers for contract C/12424 were C4699545 - C4707544. This bike would have been C4705832. It is listed in the post war Key Cards, which means that it served in the BAOR after the war. Lex can do you a high resolution scan of this particular Key Card. The post war registration number was 14ZC51.

I've added some war time pictures with bikes from the same contract:

The picture below comes from the Bundesarchiv and was tagged as "Crete":
C47015-XX-bundesarchiv-bild-101i-527-2350-14-kreta-zwei-fallschirmjger-auf-motorrad

WM20 captured by the Germans, possibly also in Crete:
C4703477

Also somewhere in the South, judging by the houses:
C470671X

Liberation of Holland:
C4707380

Hi Jan,

Thank you; that's more than I'd hoped. Good to know this one played its part. Another project waiting...

Re: Looking for info on WM20 frame

WM20.69735 is in the Key Cards, No. 480a, will check details later today.

C number was C4705832, postwar ERM number was 14ZC51, release date unreadable, but most on the card are from the 60's.

Just because it's in the Key Cards, doesn't mean it was used BAOR, there are many locations all over the world listed.

Cheers,

Lex
