I wonder if any member may be able to outline the differences between the 1939 (valanced) rear mudguard and the later pattern please ?

I have a later type fitted at the moment but have been given templates for the valances ..are there any other differences please ?

I am easily able to fabricate these and weld them to the later type mudguard but am uncertain regarding any other changes /

I'm quite sure the valance can be added to a standard mudguard. Bare in mind for 1939 the mudguard has a central rib. Ron

I now realise that the existing mudguard has no central rib and is quite square in section /
Are the earlier ones as square please ?

It might be easier to ask if anybody with a 1944 WM20 fitted with a 1939 mudguard would be prepared to swop.
