those boots look like My Grandads boots, unfortunately no history on them although he rode bikes till he was 75, he was only in the home guard in WW2
last bike he owned was a Baker

Re: Forum picture

I think a lot of the kit was left over from cavalry times. Ron

Re: Forum picture

A friend of mine had a pair of WW1 dated boots like that without the external toe cover section, it turned out they were worn by the Royal Engineers in the first war for tunneling and other "wet" work, from the RE Signals Section the Royal Corps of Signals was formed and the DR boot followed.

All the riders in that Bognor line up seem to have those same "polished" boots. Ron

It IS JT! I knew he was lying about his age!

Re: Forum picture

Since the 15 missing bikes in O&M from KC10 contract C3739 have been accounted for (I have informed Chris for inclusion in the next edition). And also from the research that Jan had done at Kew, I have just repainted my tank with the correct census number and added my original registration number to the front plate.

It turns out that mine is just two away from the forum picture. I just need to find an original picture of my bike now. Ron
