Something I've noticed missing in some pictures of M20's

These shouldn't be so easy to pick holes in, I've already drilled them.

Re: 29-7328

Hi Mark.Thank you for drawing my attention to this part. Until you posted , I never knew it existed.I notice it's listed in the 1946 Parts catalouge but only for the C10 & C11 models. Was it fitted to pre war & wartime M series bikes?

Re: 29-7328

I think that's a question for the experts Hamish,
Where I would have expected a swivel joint, I found mine fixed.
My friend's bike had been bending brake rods, so he adapted his to swivel.
Now I have saved him the embarrassment of not have the correct part fitted, well maybe.

BTW they should be on our stocklist in a day or so now.

Re: 29-7328

Mark/Hamish It should definitely be on an M20. But it doesn't appear to be listed as a separate part?? At least I haven't found that number yet? Ron

Re: 29-7328

The part number for the M20 version is 65-7037.
It is buried in the parts list for the RAF Contacts C10655 C14052.

This is from the 1940 parts list (I think).

I have three M20's and all three were missing this part when I got them. The rear brake operating hole gets really flogged when this is missing.

PS. Excuse the edits - the first picture was a bit hard to read.

Re: 29-7328

Quite right Ray. I was just about to look through the 39 and 40 civy lists, but you saved me the trouble. Cheers :+1:

#65-7037 in this group. The number Mark quotes is for the C11 C11G etc. Ron

Re: 29-7328

Thank you, Ray and Ron, for correcting me. I have a long way to go before I get a rivet counter certificate.

Of I go to correct my drawing and program part numbers.

Re: 29-7328

So that means I've ruined a perfectly good rear brake arm Mark!! :anguished:

Re: 29-7328

The part number shouldn't damage it Ian.

Re: 29-7328

It is actually threaded for the brake rod and for a grease nipple.
There are 3 different sizes that I am aware of , first used in 1929.

Re: 29-7328

65-7037
Sorry I killed the picture by changing its part number
