Hi Steve,

I'll measure my tank tomorrow, if no-one else has got there first.

Re: Trying to source or identify Fuel tank bosses on My 1939 WM20

Hi Steve,

I measure the outer diameter as 1.00". These taper down to 0.80" diameter. The thickness of the lip is 0.10" The distance between centres of the two tap bosses is 4.50". Height of the boss is difficult to measure, given that the tank is curved where they're welded. However, I estimate the height of the boss to be 0.50" at it's greatest. Tap thread is 3/8" BSPF.

Email me if you need any other measurements.

Regards,

Craig

Many Thanks Craig .

Thats exactly what I required ,
I sourced 3/8BSP bosses and have formed a new tank bottom .

Hopefully Tomorrow I will get chance to weld it all together .

Trying to minimise distortion .

Notice that Your tank has a small square welded on the bottom ..upwards of the boss on Left side ..Mine doesnt have this ?
What would it have been for ?

Hi Steve,

It's a thin metal (tin?) numbered plate. Not welded. Maybe someone else knows its significance...?

Perhaps a quality control tag ?
