Army Auxiliary Workshops - codes and locations?

Hi folks
Does anyone have any info regarding workshop locations?
My matchless G3L has a data plate stating that the bike was overhauled on 23/5/1945 at army auxiliary workshop B174.

Does anyone know where workshop B174 was located?
Be interesting to hear what other peoples tags say, and what other codes exist.
Thanks

Quite a difficult question Nathan! It has been discussed extensively in these threads on HMVF:

A post war used AB412 but maybe confirmation of Army Auxiliary Workshop B.37.

Rob,

I think it may very well be a "B 32" and not "B 37".
The symbol looks very much like many others in the Norton admin.

Nice not anyway!

Good find Rob M! But I agree with Rob vdB, I'd also say that this looks more like a 2. Same "symbol" as on the receipt card below, and there was typically a 2 years guarantee, not 7.
