Here are some pictures, courtesy Peter Thomas. I wasn't at the event unfortunately as it clashes with Weymouth veterans weekend of which I help with organizing. A&E brought about 16-17 large vehicles and tanks to add onto the end of our parade yesterday, and I met up with 7-8 of the NOBS out riders who told me that they had a convoy of 70 large vehicles on Saturday.
It's the first time we've had one of those giant US Pacific "Dragon Wagons" at Weymouth. The petrol costs must have been phenomenal!! Ron
This is a good video! Moreton where the ford is, is a little village near Bovington were T E Lawrence (Of Arabia) is buried. We go through there regularly on our bikes, but have always chickened out the ford:anguished: Ron
Last time we were there on the bikes the water was much deeper than that. We didn't want to risk it, it was only going to end badly. That's a brilliant place to watch the parade.
Yes it's often 3' deep in the middle. Even 1' over such a distance with your silencer under water could mean pushing you bike out......I'll go the long way round:laughing: Ron
