Ever the optimist, after two years of cancellations, I've been looking forward to the September jumbles again.
Unfortunately for those of us who have to travel some way (and work for a living), although Beaulieu has taken the opportunity of a later Goodwood to move back to its traditional second weekend date, Mortons seem to have chosen the first weekend.
I've already booked accommodation for the Beaulieu weekend. Apart from anything else, I enjoy the cross-over with other parts of the old vehicle hobby.
It'll be a pity to miss a large number of the motorcyle chaps though. Maybe it will help Netley...it had sufferred immensely over the last few years from so many traders upping-sticks on the Friday afternoon...but the organisers brought a lot upon themselves and not even having a single marquee for indoor traders was just daft.
It may just be that they jumped the gun with dates and can't move it.
I've argued they should have done this years ago to save Netley and I wish they'd moved them further apart and about five years earlier....I'll go to Netley again but I fear it may be too late for the event to recover and become a successful stand alone event...
As I'm only interested in motorcycles and parts really Beaulieu has never held much interest for me...Ian
Currently I'm not suffering from anything other than the usual effects of ageing!...  ...As such, I should be at Netley for the duration...Ian
