While I have your attention, the bike came with WM-3 18" on the front and WM2-19 on rear. Parts list shows WM-3 19" for both wheels.
Were there any deviations from this ?
I bought a basket case, I am sure there will be many more questions before I am done !

Yes the RAF outfits where fitted with 18" rims and 400x18 tyres. No good in your case! You will need to get it rebuilt with a 19" rim.

If you want to send me pictures of your steering stem problem, I'll post them in your other thread. The problem doesn't make sense to me? Ron

The 18" wheels are pretty rare, it would be a shame to rebuild one when its still not impossible to find a good replacement in 19".

The 18" wheel won't be wasted or modified. I have access to many spares at the club. I will take them back next week and see if I can swap for 19" WM-3.
I'll try and take a pic of the steering problem tomorrow.
