Date Letters on BSA Tools

Does anyone have any information on the date lettering in BSA 'flat spanner' tools / spanners ? Or a reference list of the tools available. I have a spanner type that I can not identify at the moment.

Re: Date Letters on BSA Tools

Date code follow the frame prefix number from 1930 Being X Y Z A B E D H J K
Prior is different.
From what I have worked out
P late 26
R 27
S 28
T 29

Re: Date Letters on BSA Tools

I have not seen it associated with any motorcycles, but I have seen it associated more with para bicycles... its the bottom one in this image.
But if it is '39 dated I dont think that could be associated with the para bike as it would be too early for that ?

Re: Date Letters on BSA Tools

I think its a bicycle spanner, BSA made thousands of them every year, it could be correct for an Infantry Bicycle Mk5 or Mk5*
