Lower chain guard

Just on with my lower chain guard , I can't seem to work out what the long bar connect to at the front , not sure if im missing a braket or something, has any one got a picture please or advice .

It connects between the frame rail and the N/S cotton reel at the rear of the gearbox plates. Ron
