Greek soldier on an M20,post war photo ,shadow from bars and riders arm hide part of the C number.

I know it's a black and white photo, but my wishful thinking says it's painted black? I guess the bike must be 43-44 as Britain only went there to suppress the civil war breaking out after the Germans left.
