I was wondering, was the oval tank badge with the BSA name on the fuel tank originally a transfer, or was it handpainted, or something else?

I don't have anything definite, but surely it would be a transfer? I can't see it being hand painted.

I have a pair of originals which are not waterslide, they seem thicker and I think you fixed them on with varnish, I can't find a picture at the moment so I will have to dig them out and scan them again.

But waterslide transfers look pretty good anyway and they are easily available.
