WM20 rear tank mounting bolts

The rear tank mounting bolts on my bike are drilled for locking wire. I don't do this, the bolts are checked regularly & are always nice & tight. But is it considered good practice to lock them?

When making replacement bolts or fitting pattern ones, take care to ensure the threaded section is the right length as they can pierce the bottom of the tank if too long...Ian
