M20 +0.20 piston rings

Aloha,

Set out to buy a set of new rings for my M21 first OD 0.20, and to my surprise it appears to be at hard item to find? Can this really be? Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Best regards,

Simon

Re: M20 +0.20 piston rings

I had to get some rings made for the Three Wheeler earlier in the year via FW Thorntons. I only needed plain rings and they worked out at £25 per ring (gulp) but then that is for low volume to my diemensions.

Re: M20 +0.20 piston rings

All this talk about hard to source 20 over rings brings me to a question. I am going to need 40 over or maybe even 60 over. Dragonfly advertises they have them, but I have not checked.
If pistons and rings are hard to get are is a new sleeve and standard pistons a better way to go? Over here in the states we do not have lots of options it seems.
Thanks

Re: M20 +0.20 piston rings

Aloha,

Charlie: My research this far has given that STD, 0.40 and 0.60 are readily available, it's the 0.20 that are scarce.

Ian: email sent!

Best regards,

Simon
