I've been sorting out some BSA swinging arm gearbox parts today and I noticed the kick start quadrant tooth form varies...One type has the 'pointed' style of tooth form, rather like the M20 quadrant...The other type has flat tops machined onto all the gear teeth..I've heard BSA altered the quadrants to improve engagement...
In all other respects the quadrants are identical....Does anyone know which is the earlier type and/or which is the better of the two?.....Ian
I raised the issue of jamming kickstarter on the BSAOC forum and received soem interesting replies but not as I recall a direwct answer to you question.
The BSA A7/10 forum would be a good place to ask the question.
