Cracked rear frame member

The found a weld repair on the left side upper frame and inch or so above were it connects into the rear who assembly. It looks like the frame pipe is brazed. I could cut the section out, fit a stub inside the tube and weld. Or I could heat and hopefully remove the cracked frame section. My fear there is I may cause issues with the brazed connections the rear wheel assembly.
What do the experts recommend?
Oh what they of steel tube did the use?

I have lots more questions as I remove parts from this bike.

Stay tuned

Re: Cracked rear frame member

Some of your typing doesn't make sense Charlie. So I'm not quite sure which part of the frame it is. The brazed joints will also be pinned! Getting them out is one thing and replacing is another especially if it's triangulated with other tubes. My choice would be a hollow spigot repair if you can get it in? Ron

Re: Cracked rear frame member

Sorry for the bad typing. I understand your advice is to cut the frame and fit a plug and then reveled. I may have to use the existing frame as the plug and weld a section of tube over it.
I may try to find a good rear section, but if I can’t the rebels should work.
Thanks.
