It looks more like Royal Navy 'Oxford' blue to me (or 'Trafalgar' blue)....Ian

These colours were used pre and post war on Navy vehicles...They were never a standard BSA colour on the XB31 which was black and silver.... I have no idea whether the B31 was used by the Navy post war, I've seen nothing to indicate that to date...Ian
Could it be a wartime chaincase from a cancelled BSA B30 contract? Didn't the RN receive a few of these ?
