Re: Bosch dynamo with FADE regulator.

I guess you are correct. It just means I will only have 1 wire coming out of the dynamo instead of 2. Unless I take the earth of the regulator out of the dynamo housing and take it back to the battery and connect to the earth there instead of inside the dynamo?

Re: Bosch dynamo with FADE regulator.

I will be honest with you I have not had much dealings with the continental type of dynamo. On a Lucas dynamo one end of the field coil goes to earth inside the dynamo. The other end exits the dynamo and goes to the regulator. In the continental single wire type one end of the field winding is earthed inside and the end is joined to the D terminal. If you open the dynamos find the end that goes to the D and remove and bring out of the dynamo and attach to the field terminal of the regulator. This should make it work like a Lucas one.

Re: Bosch dynamo with FADE regulator.

You could try contacting these guys: http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/ They deal with both Lucas and Bosch dynamos and regulators.
