Electrical question

Hello Everyone,

My WM20 has been wired for a total loss battery system. Under the seat on the Right hand side is a simple on/off switch. There is no ammeter. A dip switch resides on the handlebars. They system works well, but it is a total loss system, after all. It is negative earth.

I've now got my dynamo pushing out a healthy charge.

Here's the question: if I want to use the dynamo to charge the battery can I just connect the A lead from the control box to the positive lead on the battery?

Many thanks, in advance.

Allan

Re: Electrical question

That would make sense to me. Then anything you need power for.... Light switch, horn etc would come directly off the battery Poss terminal instead of the ammeter. They must have done something like that for very late war bikes where the switch was fitted under the saddle and the ammeter was deleted. Ron

Re: Electrical question

Thanks so much for this, Ron. It's very helpful. It seemed logical to me, but one never knows whether others will agree!

No one else has weighed in, so I'll go with your advice.

All my best wishes,

Allan
