The piece in the technical section was written to apply when fitting a 'composite' gasket...

Personally, I no longer recommend or use this type of gasket, a solid copper gasket of .040"(1mm) thickness being far more reliable (and reusable)..

When using a solid copper gasket the same torque figures apply.. However, after torqueing down initially when the gasket is fitted only one further tightening down is required usually, after the engine has been run up to working temperature and then left to go cold...Ian
