Hi all. I'm looking for a WD 8" Lucas rim, flat glass and reflector for a DU142 headlamp. Lucas L140 'King of the Road' lights used on MG cars look very similar, at least in photos, including some that have 'w' rim screw fixings. Does anyone know if any of the L140 components are compatible with a DU142 shell? If not, I'll chance £20 or so and report back...

Try Stewart engineering - somewhere in the Bournemouth / Poole area

They are known for sunbeam parts - in addition- the remake 8” reflectors & supply cork gasket & long headlight bulb holder clips

I have had one from them & it’s very well made & fits

Rims & glass - keep an an eye out at jumbles or ebay - they do turn up

john is correct about the stewart engineering reflector.it is superb quality.
Type this in ebay and you will find it

Thanks John and Roy. I'll certainly take a look at these reflectors.

Exploring Lucas spares for 1940s car lights, I came across replacement W rim brackets and the corresponding shell catches. They're reasonably priced and look the same as the WD bike fittings, so I'll have a look.
