Uncovered regimental markings

Hi all, stripping the civilian paint from my tank, which flakes off largely.
I uncovered the remains of a regiment / formation insignia.
Which appeared to be a light blue with white numbers. Too far gone to be legible.

Does anybody have an illustration or any other image showing a list of known markings, please?

Re: Uncovered regimental markings

Hi Steve, there is a book by Hodges & Taylor that goes into the subject in some detail and lists many hundreds of vehicle markings, its not been in print for a while so it can be expensive, here are some on abebooks.

https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&cm_sp=SearchF-_-home-_-Results&an=hodges+taylor&tn=&kn=markings&isbn=

If you can give us a photo of what you have we can try to look it up for you.

It could be Royal Engineers depending on the blue...They used 'cobalt' blue..Here it is on my WB30....Ian

Re: Uncovered regimental markings

Hi, that seems to be the blue. There is too little of it left to see any numbers.
I’m not sure how to upload a photo to show you.
