M20 720 piston update....

For anyone that enquired about these pistons I now have enough interest to (potentially) get a small batch made...I've contacted the manufacturer to obtain a current price as it's a while since I bought the last batch....

More to follow when I have the information...

If anyone else is interested who hasn't contacted me yet do so now as once the batch is ordered no more units can be added....Ian

Re: M20 720 piston update....

That's a bugger, can I ask what the reason is ? 'cos if it's cash flow I'd be happy to pay upfront if it'd help.

Re: M20 720 piston update....

It's a shame. Was really looking forward to building a 720cc engine...

Ian has left the name of the firm in US, so you can all do your own shopping or delegate a spokesman! Ron:+1:

['That's a bugger, can I ask what the reason is ? 'cos if it's cash flow I'd be happy to pay upfront if it'd help...']

I'll answer this under the heading of tying up loose ends and I'll keep it reasonably brief...
Please don't use these personal views to start any type of discussion, they represent only a brief explanation, not a topic for debate...I think enough damage has been done to this forum already in that regard and I don't seek to make that worse, quite the contrary in fact....

Now I'm retired my periodic efforts and activities involving the manufacture and supply of anything are carried out purely as an adjunct to my activities on the forum...That includes the pistons..
In my opinion, which I don't expect anyone to agree with necessarily, a new forum member is behaving in a way I consider to be unacceptable...
Although not by name but by very clear inference I have been referred to by this individual as a c**t on Facebook, with direct ref. to my activities on this forum, an act that I consider to be utterly and completely unacceptable from a contributor to this forum whatever his views or opinions may be...

There are also other related problems in my opinion, which I won't expand on here. Personally, I have no wish whatever to continue to engage with this individuals line of thinking or world view at any level, particularly as part of my leisure activities, which is what this forum is......

So, acknowledging that from my perspective on going 'friction' may unfortunately be inevitable, I have decided to withdraw from the forum for now...

With that withdrawal comes the cessation of all my related activities which are carried out entirely through the medium of the forum...
I don't really wish to make any further comments or posts although I'm sure I'll be looking in periodically to see how things are going, so I would ask that no more enquiries are addressed to me via this format... Ian

Ian Wright
I have decided to withdraw from the forum for now...

Well I for one will be very sad to see you go, I suspect many others will feel likewise.

Personally I've learnt a lot from reading your posts on this forum but I can entirely sympathise with you as I've previously given up on another forum I used to post on regular basis due to a few unpleasant individuals I found there.

All the best Ian, enjoy your break and I'm sure the majority on here will be only too happy if you return.

Re: M20 720 piston update....

Re: M20 720 piston update....

We have lost a good source of information with the going of Ian. I was lucky I got one of his pistons they are brilliant.

Re: M20 720 piston update....

Ian, I hate to read all this. Was always interested in your (scientific) views on technical matters.
Not so much a rivet counter. This has always been a friendly and helpfull forum. We should keep it like that.
Hope you will reconsider your decision and don't let anyone drive you mad !

So, please stay with us !

Re: M20 720 piston update....

Hi Ian W, I've read your comments, posts and information for I don't know how long but must be 20 years or more by now. I ALWAYS value your opinion, comments and knowledge. I have emailed you several times and always found you very helpful. I will say you are a real true gentleman of this forum. I think maybe this forum needs to move to a format like others that sign in and anyone who is a trouble maker for members can be kicked out. I thank you for your contribution and wish you all the best. I do hope in time we will see you back to what you do best and this idiot giving you a hard time will fizzle off and crawl back under the rock he came from.
