Not posted for a while, hope all I know are keeping well.
I understand that today is the 75th anniversary of Operation Manna. This was the humanitarian food drop into an occupied and starving Netherlands at the end of WW2. I remember late Hans Muller telling me about his experiences of it as a boy and of the effect it had on him. I was sorry to learn of his passing.
I'm well thanks. Like many on here I imagine, was looking forward to taking the M20 to a local VE Day commemoration but of course not now. I'll still be thinking about what that date meant to my Father's generation though.
Thats how we ended speaking at great length, my Great Uncle was one of the Lancaster Pilots who dropped food, he remembered the bombers dropping food and his aircraft features in some of the better known photographs after the Polar Bears liberated.
