Hi guys so as a few of you may have seen that I found out my Norton's RAF sidecar combo's original Erm number of 167554 really happy! Via Geoff Fletcher who does research with the Raf Museum he's got a few of the keycards, hoping once the museum re opens I'll be able to find out some more on her. It's ace that she's 103 or so from the one Steve posted with the Vokes.
Think the one Steve posted could be RAF Air Control in Germany :) maybe.
I've also seen another picture via one of the lads of one with the writing on the tank a few hundred before mine.
On the 2nd picture below the Norton sidecar in the middle has the text laid out exactly the same as the other picture I've seen of another 167 start number sidecar combo and what's interesting on this one that it has the Norton Logo which is the first sidecar combo I've seen with that. Similar font as well to the one steve posted in the desert as well.
Just gone through 4,000 pictures on the RAF archive another 31,000 to go!
Can't take credit for finding the first to Jan sent me those last night how cool are those!
Interestingly as well I've found a fair few pictures marked up as RAF Despatch Rider that are not available online looking forward to the museum opening attached a link to that found them when I realised the difference in spelling on the pics Jan sent me.
The links to the ones I'm looking forward to checking out mentions a few Raf Dispatch riders across the war. Descriptions are quite interesting to read
