My WM20 has a brass repair plate in the tool box the details as follows Reg No 14 YD 54, Frame No 27772 MTRS B145. Would these details indicate a repair workshop it also dated 1/53 Thanks Mike.
Ok, 14YD54 had indeed that framenumber, the (rebuilt) C number was C1431058, and it was struck off the list (ie. sold off) on 20-01-1956 (I think, difficult to read!) last used was HQ 49th. Infantry Division.
Thanks Lex great info. I am trying to build a history of the bike, I checked on line and the 49th was a TA division in the early fifties based in Nottingham. I would like to know if anyone has anymore information HQ badge markings etc. Also (the list gets longer) if the re-built bike C number was displayed and if the MTRS B175 is a repair base and its location.
