A chap sent me Thees two pictures. the chap on the left in bottom pic was his grandad, he was in service up till 1947. The pictures were taken at doolally in India.

'Deolali' was a British Army transit camp in India...

Apparently some people were there for a while and it was a pretty dull, uninteresting place...The phrase 'Going doolally' derived from the name.. and the boredom!...

It referred to going crazy waiting!...Ian
