Anybody know why the M20 kickstart spring changed in 1939 from 24-4300 to 66-3058, or at least the part number?

I think it was a reduction in the number of coils (1) in the spring. There was a discussion many years ago saying that the outer cover material around the kick starter boss was increased to try and stop the cover cracking in this area hence a shorter spring.
