Hello,

I am trying to fix the gear indicators to a 1941 Matchless G3L.
The control spindle which holds the indicator has a nut (171-X). This is completely knackered and the nut doesn't tighten as desired.
This leaves me with an option to use a die to retread and then use a standard nut.

Any advice on what threads are used on this? Please advice

Pratap it's just a simple 3/8"BSC (26 tpi) half/slim nut. Available very cheaply in packets of five from Nooky. Could be an idea to stock up with a few more of the other common sizes. http://www.nookysnuts.com/catalogue/nutsandbolts/nutsandbolts.html
