I have been collecting other BSA stuff for some years and I have an interest in war factories so this helmet on ebay took my interest, its already a bit pricy for me and I can't help but wonder if its genuine or made up as many home front helmets are these days.

What are your thoughts on the emblem on the front, its difficult to see if its a transfer or a sticker, and the white background seems a bit odd, I have what I think is a genuine period transfer which is probably the type glued on with varnish?

I think you will find that the transfer shown is for post 1953. Prior to that it was BSA Cycles not BSA Motorcycles.

Thanks Ian that is a valid point, my transfer has a prefix "65-" part number does that date it to a certain period?
