Air filters

Looking for images of air filters other than the “standard” vokes on the tank. Seem to remember a cylinder strapped down the side? Standard or field mods of interest.

Re: Air filters

Hi Scott,
I managed to get a Talflow filter as it is what was on the bike my late father in law rode in Burma.
Not fitted yet, but could sort a photo of that and of the original on his bike.

If that's the kind of thing you mean, drop me an email and I will sort it when I get back to work on Tuesday.
Cheers. Darren.

Hello Scott,

Have a look at my website www.wdnorton.nl.
There you will find some more info on Air Cleaners. (Not complete yet)

Rob thanks, some great images there, keep going!
Anyone got anything else, looking to make/find an authentic alternative to the standard Vokes box?
cheers!

Re: Air filters

Some WD Royal Enfield's had a box filter with a short rubber hose to the carb. (WD/L and G for instance). Other models had more of a flame trap than a filter (Also fitted to some 16H's I think). These are easy and readily available. Ron

Re: Air filters

If you consider something really special yet authentic, you could go for the Australian Bryant Bros filter...

Re: Air filters

Here are a couple of photos I took when I opened a NOS Bryant some years back - let me know if you want any others as I have that and a used one.

Here is another Australian rear mounted one in service - mounted very close to where the Bryant is designed to go but it looks a little squarer.
