Matchless G3L - Front Brake Plate and Anchor Bolt Question
Sorry for I have been asking too many questions, but this is definitely helping me putting my bike back on road.
After I fixed the Teledraulic forks and when I try to put my front wheel the brake plate seem to be a bit far from the Anchor Bolt on the left fork leg. This is for a Matchless WD.
When the anchor bolt is tightened the brake plate sits ok but I am sure that it is under strain
Is this normal or should the brake plate be in flush with the anchor bolt.
Any tips or ideas.... John
Re: Matchless G3L - Front Brake Plate and Anchor Bolt Question
That is very easy on a G3L, just remove nut on spindle that secures brake plate, remove brake plate, an adjust special nut that is under there, outwards till the distance for the anchor bolt is nil.
Re: Matchless G3L - Front Brake Plate and Anchor Bolt Question
Hi John
I had the same problem on mine recently. Like Lex suggested adjusting the nut (017003) will bring the plate over but I also made the mistake of putting the washer (017334) on the outsde of the plate. Make sure its assembled as the diagram.

Thanks Lex and Gerard. Am I right in saying that the outer nut and the inner nut tighten against each other and there is no washer on the outside of the plate?....John
