Front brake

I have seen pictures of some wd m20's with front brake operated by cable/ rod set up with a junction on a lug on forks. Others have been cable to front wheel. Mine has the threaded lug on forks and also the threaded fitting on brake backing plate for a cable adjuster. Either I have wrong brake plate or maybe they went to cable after awhile and never removed the lug on forks. Anyone know what's correct.

Re: Front brake

You are correct, rod then cable, the lug on the forks was never removed.

Re: Front brake

Hi Kim

The forks on my 1941 project came with remains of the brake rod & a Bakelite side damper

The fork blade is approximately 1/2” shorter than the more common later war type blade,

My 1940 fork blades are also the shorter type to suit the brake rod and of lighter weight as is the front frame section

The threaded lug remained in place in the construction despite the change in length & replacement of the brake rod with a cable
